About ExeChanges.

ExeChanges | Providers of Therapeutic Supported Living for Children & Young People

Created from a desire to provide something ‘different’… that could be ‘more’ than simply a home for a young person, ExeChanges came from a recognition that all young people need someone to fight their corner… to be the cheerleader.
To be the ‘no matter what’ person.

ExeChanges | Providers of Therapeutic Supported Living for Children & Young People

ExeChanges was always designed to look outside of the box and to work creatively and therapeutically with young people who could benefit from this approach.

Having looked after young people with a range of needs, wishes, wants and desires, we are keen to meet the real young person behind the paper person we receive via email before a young person arrives.

Behaviours that challenge, substance misuse, adverse childhood experiences, ASD, HSB, are just a snapshot of some of the areas of need we have specialised in. Training and the on-going development of our team is a vital part of our company ethos and culture.

We have a belief that knowledge can assist staff to support in a more helpful and beneficial way, building resilience and keeping placements safe with less risk of breakdown.

Anything is possible when you have the right people there to support you, and living in ExeChanges gave me the support and encouragement and helped me become the person I am today 💙

As adults, when children and young people become tricky, we often focus on the behaviours and when those behaviours become difficult for us to manage, we stop asking ‘why?’

ExeChanges

A message from the director,
Lou McCrum.

"As adults, when children and young people become tricky, we often focus on the behaviours and when those behaviours become difficult for us to manage, we stop asking ‘why?’ When we stop asking why, we lose sight of what is needed to ensure change can happen.

This is really where ExeChanges came from; my desire to focus on the good parts of every child or young person we were lucky enough to accommodate, and this was where ExeChanges began to see the positive outcomes needed to instil change. I have been fortunate enough to have an exceptional team.

Since opening in 2014, we have employed, and still employ, staff who are committed to ‘riding storms’ and to building authentic, meaningful, genuine relationships that long outlive the time spent living in ExeChanges houses“

"I have a strong belief that all children deserve the opportunity to shine. No child is born demonstrating behaviours that challenge; life experiences and situations way out of a child’s control create children and young people who may find the world a really tricky place to be."

Katja Jaqueline

We have a new Therapeutic coach we work with, Katje Jaqueline

Katja Jaqueline is a professionally qualified online therapeutic coach with a background in psychology. She is passionate about supporting people to be the best version of themselves and specializes in helping people struggling with Depression, Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), as well as other complicated mental health issues.

Katja's role here at ExeChanges involves supporting staff members through online supervisory sessions. She creates a supportive environment where they can safely share their struggles, reflect on their practice and receive evidence-based advice on mental health topics.  This helps staff reach their full potential and enjoy a work-life balance, but also ensures that ExeChanges' young people receive the best possible support.
