A small, professional, family owned and run company that is focussed on creating ‘Positive Outcomes for Young People’
A deliberate choice was made prior to the development of our homes, and that was to underpin everything we do with a therapeutic approach; working in a trauma informed manner, prioritising safety and safeguarding alongside the recognised need for relationships and connectivity.
Founded in 2014 with one house, organic growth has seen ExeChanges’ expansion to three properties, 20 staff, and an office. We can now offer 7 beds across the Exeter area.
Young people are referred to ExeChanges by a number of local authorities, primarily Devon County Council and Plymouth City Council. However, all geographical areas are considered. Priority is given to children and young people whose needs we can meet effectively with the skill set delivered by our team.
There is nothing more rewarding than building a safe, stable and authentic relationship with a young person who is in need of, but afraid to rely on, a trusted adult.
When a flower doesn’t bloom you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower -
The more healthy relationships a child has, the more likely he will be to recover from trauma and thrive. Relationships are the agents of the change and the most powerful therapy is human love
Remember, the kids who need the most love will ask for it in the most unloving ways
Honesty, integrity and a young person focussed approach is central to all that ExeChanges offer, and we enjoy multi-agency working with others who share the same values. To be part of a young person’s journey through care is a privilege and one we take seriously.
We hope that our website will give you a snapshot of what we are all about.
